“What led you to move to our area?” I asked to a senior citizen who had recently begun to attend worship with us.Her reply was familiar: “I want to be closer to my family who live here” In all of our lives there are people we want to be close to. Physically. Emotionally. God wants to be close to us. By sending Jesus that message came through loud and clear.
This weekend we’ll explore this aspect of God’s character as we consider how God is “CLOSER THAN CLOSE”
The Bible passages we’ll consider are Psalm 139:1-10 and John 14:15-20. Other details of our 4 joyful services include:
SATURDAY NIGHT WORSHIP AT 5:00
Ten Simple Rules provides music for our worship and Pastor Anthony shares the message.
8:15 CHAPEL – Pastor Don will lead worship and preach.
9:15 CONTEMPORARY SANCTUARY WORSHIP – The Celebration Praise Band will offer music, and I’ll share the message.
10:45 TRADITIONAL SANCTUARY WORSHIP – The Chancel Choir will provide special music, we will celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism with three families and distribute Bibles to our third graders and confirmation students. I’ll share the message.
This weekend is the final weekend to sign up in person for one of our small groups (after this sign-ups are all online).
You can purchase your copy of our congregational reading book (What is God’s Will For My Life?) for just $3.00. A sermon series on the book begins in 3 weeks.
You can connect with one of our ministries through the Just Say Yes bulletin insert in which we are looking for help with our new member dinner, KidVenture leadership, ministry teams, or congregational book sale.
You can sign up for our brand new mission encounter day with the Global Aid Network – inviting you to serve on Saturday, October 21st by sorting and packing supplies going around the world in mission.
I hope you’ll make time to worship with your family and your church family this weekend.
