Sunday is a special day. Only occasionally does Christmas Eve fall on a Sunday, and thus gives us an unusual opportunity to keep the focus on Jesus – who is the reason for the season. We’ll have all 3 Sunday morning services as usual..but no Saturday SNW service because in place of that is the Christmas Eve- Eve service in the sanctuary at 7:30. And Sunday morning is a family worship time as we will not have KidVenture classes or Church School classes, but invite you to come to worship as a family. For both 9:15 and 10:45 services we will have Creative Activities, so children from age 4 through 4th grade (note the older age range for this Sunday only) can go to this children’s program after Children’s Time – in each service. Our nursery is available as usual. AND I’m pleased that we’ll give each child in worship a special gift – a bag of frankincense, as a reminder that Christmas is JESUS birthday and HE gets the gift of our and to keep that focus at both 9:15 and 10:45 we’ll have a birthday cake and sing Happy Birthday to.
Here are other details:
8:15 CHAPEL – Worship will be led by Pastor Jenny Smith Walz.
9:15 CONTEMPORARY SANCTUARY WORSHIP – The Celebration Praise Band leads us to music and I’ll offer a message – with a children’s time and special frankincense gift and Jesus birthday cake
10:45 TRADITIONAL SANCTUARY WORSHIP – I’m excited to have my 8-year-old granddaughter Micaela share a violin medley with us, and our Chancel Choir will also provide music. Pastor Anthony Pami will share a message, and we’ll again distribute the frankincense and the Jesus birthday cake.
So I really hope that you’ll make Sunday special by worshipping with your family and church family in the morning, and then attend a beautiful Christmas Eve service of your choice in the evening. What a special day it is. We are busy indeed…. but let’s keep the focus where it belongs.
Blessings and peace to you,
