Faithful Stewardship: E-Giving
"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." - Luke 6:38
Dear Trinity Friends,
I am so pleased that Trinity offers you another way to share what God has given you through our electronic giving format. This simple and secure method of giving to Trinity has many advantages, and with more and more people using the internet for financial matters, we hope it is useful and helpful for many parishioners.
As always we are most grateful to all persons for their financial gifts to the church, in whatever form best suits them.
May God bless and guide us always in using all such gifts for the building of His Kingdom.
Yours in Christ's service
Frank Fowler
Senior Pastor
Trinity now offers you a secure way to give regularly and automatically. This program, known as UM-EFT (United Methodist Electronic Funds Transfer) or e-giving, is endorsed by The United Methodist Church General Council on Finance and Administration and is administered through Vanco Financial Services, LLC.
Save time, simplify your life, and support the ministries at Trinity. In this new millennium our Church is keeping up with the times by offering a new way to give. The program is via electronic funds transfer (EFT) that will allow you to make contributions without having to write a check or reach into your wallet for cash.
Here is how it works: you authorize a specified amount of money to be electronically transferred directly from your checking or savings account. You also specify the frequency of the transfer to allow you to keep your check register up to date. It is secure, fast, safe and easy! In fact, it is less risky than checks, as it cannot be lost, stolen, or destroyed in the mail.
Just Complete and sign the authorization form, place it in a sealed envelope along with a voided check or voided savings deposit slip, print "E-Giving" on the outside and place it in the offering plate or return it to the church office.
The service costs you NOTHING. You save the cost of the check. Donations via electronic transfer can be made to our general fund, mortgage reduction, capital campaign, or other designated areas.
The following forms are available for you to download to get started on the program, and answer any questions you may have.
Bank Routing Number: Many may not be familiar with the block type numbers on the bottom of your checks. Please note diagram to the left. The Bank Routing Number was created by the American Bankers Association (ABA) in 1910, and serves to uniquely identify financial institutions. This along with your account number is placed on the e-giving authorization form. It is in "Block Type" to enable easy electronic reading.
Any additional questions that you may have may be directed to the Church Office at (908) 852-3020 or info@catchthespirit.org.
FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
- What is electronic contribution?
- Electronic contribution is an automatic transfer program which allows you
to make contributions without writing checks
- What is the advantage of electronic contribution?
It saves time. You also help the church stabilize its budget and save
money. This program also reduces the work of the church volunteers who
count the offering and the office staff who maintains contribution
information. Errors are reduced, and your contributions are more
secure because you don't have a check that is passing through many hands
from the time it is dropped in the offering plate until it is deposited
in the bank.
- How is my electronic contribution automatically deducted from my
account?
- Once you authorize the transfer, your specified contribution is
electronically transferred directly from your checking or savings account
to the church’s account.
- When will my contribution be deducted from my account?
- On the date you authorize.
- How do I participate in the weekly offering if my contribution is automatically deducted from my bank account?
- If you wish, you can print "I give electronically" and place it in the offering plate, but it is not necessary.
- If I do not write checks, how do I balance my checkbook?
- Since your contribution is made at a pre-established time, you simply
record it in your check register on the appropriate date.
- Without a canceled check, how can I prove I made my contribution?
Your bank statement gives you an itemized list of electronic transfers. It
is your proof of contribution.
- Is electronic contribution risky?
Electronic contribution is less risky than check contribution. It cannot
be lost, stolen or destroyed. It has an extremely high rate of accuracy.
- What if I change bank accounts?
Notify us and we will give you a new authorization form to complete.
- How much does electronic contribution cost?
For you nothing!
- What if I try electronic contribution and don’t like it?
- You can cancel your authorization by notifying us any time. But, once
you’ve enjoyed the convenience, time and money savings of electronic
contribution, we doubt you will want to go back to making contributions
the way you did before.
- How do I sign up for electronic contributions?
- Complete and sign the authorization form and place it in a sealed envelope along with a voided check or voided savings deposit slip, print "E-Giving" on the outside and place it in the offering plate or return it to the church office.
