6th to 12th Grade Students
CONFIRMATION UPDATE! Greetings in the Name of the God of Grace ! Our days are numbered (as it relates to yet another opportunity for GRACE – in the form of saying YES to God and the journey of faith on Confirmation Sunday – June 3rd). But first ..... 1) This Sunday, in addition to regularly scheduled class, we have our Confirmation Rehearsal in the Main Sanctuary @ 12:15 (arrive a few minutes early please if you can). After sitting with Frank this week, the expectation is that rehearsal will be approximately ONE hour. Please make every attempt to be there .... First and foremost – STUDENTS but also PARENTS and SPONSORS and ALL CONFIRMATION LEADERS (i.e. small group leaders as well as the core confirmation team). We hope to see everyone there. 2) In addition, during class this week – we will be taking some pictures of each of the kids for purposes of displaying on the big screens at the Confirmation Service on June 3rd. No special preparations need to be made and no particular dress is required. The students should be themselves and dress as they would like. We hope the pictures will reflect their diverse God-given personalities. It is important that all students make every attempt to be in class this Sunday ! 3) Also, as part of Confirmation Sunday, we will hold a breakfast beforehand in Trinity House from 9:00 P.M. to 10:10 (before heading to Sanctuary). There will be a time of sharing as well as breakfast and fellowship. We could use some Parent Volunteers to bring breakfast items (i.e. food as well as juice) for the breakfast. Please let me know if you can assist. Finally, don't lose sight of the important Confirmation Eve event on Saturday, June 2nd. All students are asked to attend worship at 5:00 P.M. on that evening which will be following with dinner and a ceremonial foot washing and sharing / conversation with the students. Come join the Fitness Club! It meets Friday, 3-4:30pm, in Starr Hall.
(Note: This has concluded for the summer. Please check back here in August for their start-up date.) During our time together we will learn different craft techniques together for all occasions. It is a great time to learn something new and have fun together in a safe, Christian environment. We will make three to four cards together and the cost is $10.00 to cover the supplies. Join us at any time!
PARENTING POTPOURRI II Come to this group of moms dealing with middle school/high school youth! We feature a Biblically-based session with prayer and sharing on timely topics.Plan to spend one night a month thinking about positive parenting. Your kids will be glad you did! Rooted in Scripture, bonded in fellowship, we'll help each other grow as Christian parents!
