TRINITY SANCTUARY RENOVATION PLAN SET
By action of the Administrative Board of Trinity Church on April 14th, our long-planned sanctuary renovation process will soon commence. Upon recommendation from our Sanctuary Renovation Team, Finance Ministry Team and Capital Campaign Team, the Board agreed to do the renovation in 2 phases. This is due to financial reasons.
Phase 1 of the sanctuary renovation will address sanctuary matters dealing with safety, aesthetics and sound. Specifically, it will include plaster repair, woodwork repair and painting of the sanctuary, pew restoration and new pew cushions, re-screwing the sub floor and installing new carpet, upgrading the electrical system, replacing selected steam pipes and installing a new sound system.
Phase 2 will address the matter of new lighting, renovation of the choir loft, bell area and chancel, installation of a new video system and organ, air conditioning and sprinklers.
It is anticipated that phase 1 will commence in June and it is our hope that it can be completed by the first week of September so that we might return to having worship there at the beginning of the new program year. During the renovation this summer, worship services typically held in the Sanctuary will be held in Starr Hall and in our new ministry site – Trinity House. Our regular Saturday Night Worship and early Sunday morning Chapel worship will continue as usual.
Phase 2 of the sanctuary renovation will be done when finances allow.
During phase 1 of the sanctuary renovation this summer, there will be many logistical and practical details that will need the assistance of many volunteers. If you would like to help support the sanctuary renovation by volunteering your time in one of these areas, please contact Lois in the church office.
A full schedule of worship services and an update of all information will be made available on a weekly basis on this website. Please consult it regularly and pass the word to others so that we might minimize any confusion during this joyful time of improving our primary worship space at Trinity.
