Congregational Reading Book

This fall’s congregational reading book is a very valuable one entitled The Wisdom of the Desert
by Thomas Merton. Merton was an American Trappist monk, writer, theologian and scholar, who wrote more than 70 books, many of them very influential among church leaders of all denominations. The book is a series of brief stories from the lives of some of the first Christian monks who lived very isolated lives in the 4th century in Egypt, Palestine and Persia. You can get your copy of the book before or after all worship services in late August and in September. They’ll also be available at the church office. A sermon series based on the book called Living by Godly Wisdom begins September 14th and 15th with a message entitled “Hide and Seek.”
