Dear Trinity Family,
I once went on an amusement park ride that sent us careening up and down and left and right and spun us around and around and over and over…until for a few moments I didn’t know where I was or what was happening. It was completely disorienting (and I paid to have this “fun”)….though my stomach reported the event in a different way. I wonder how disoriented the virgin Mary felt when she was told by the angel that she would give birth to a son…God’s son!!!! How confused she must have felt. We’ll look at that matter this weekend in worship as we continue our sermon series called “Christmas Questions” and explore Mary’s question “HOW CAN THIS BE?”
That very question comes up in our Bible text…Luke 1: 26-38. Other details of our worship services this weekend include:
5:00 – Saturday Night Worship in Trinity House – Praise music will be provided by the Meanz of Grace praise band, and Pastor Deb De Vos will share the message. Holy Communion will be shared, and we’ll hear a report from our DC Encounter Mission Team. The Advent Candle will be lit by the Middle and High School students.
8:15 Chapel – We’ll share in Holy Communion and I’ll bring the message. Our Advent candle will be lit by Barbara Yarwood Doris LeMasters.
9:15 – Contemporary Sanctuary Worship – Our Youth Praise Band will lead us in music and our DC Encounter team will share a report. I’ll offer the sermon. The Advent Candle will be lit by the Lyon family.
10:45 – Traditional Sanctuary Worship – Music will be shared by the Trinity Singers, the Agape Ringers and our Chancel Choir. The Marsh family will light the Advent candle. We’ll welcome new members into our church fellowship, the DC team will report, and I’ll share the sermon. We’ll also be welcoming our new organist and Chancel Choir Director John Van Sant.
Christmas poinsettias can be ordered.
Gifts for Brooklyn Methodist Hospital can be dropped off (last chance)
You can pick up your 2017 offering envelopes (Sunday only) and I hope you’ll make worship a priority this weekend.
