“First Fruits Giving” is the Theme for 2015 at Trinity Church
The season of commitment of time, talent, and treasure is upon us and the In HIS Steps ministry team has created a message to capture the essence of giving for 2015.
Thoughts on Giving
We belong to God, it’s logical that everything we have truly belongs to Him.
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Psalm 24:1
Pray and Serve Others with your gifts to God
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach. Romans 12: 6-7
Help Others Stay on their Path to Christ with your Prayers
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:16
Serve Others with Your Gifts
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
Pray in the Spirit
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18
Many people go to their graves, with God’s unplayed music still inside of them.
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
God is always there to guide us
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of god, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Give to God what’s right—not what’s left.
Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you. Deuteronomy 16:17

In His Steps Resources & Guides:
Methodist approach to Stewardship
John Wesley urged those in connection with him to “Earn all you can and save all you can, so that you can give all you can.” He modeled modest living and sacrificial giving Wesley made sure those early classes of Methodists took weekly offerings to help others in need.
Today, we United Methodists join others to help all of Cod’s children — whenever and wherever we can — just as Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes when the crowd grew hungry Through our congregation, we are the heart, spirit and hands of God’s outreaching love. Love grows here through the joy of generosity.
