June 10th and 11th – Worship This Weekend

Dear Trinity family,

We’ve got a special weekend planned in our worship services as our 32 member Confirmation class will be confirmed in our 1045 service. The night before they’ll be at the SNW service and after that worship service is a special footwashing ceremony in which they will take part.

So even if you are not at a service where our kids will be please take note of and pray for these young souls who begin their journey of public faith this weekend.

Our worship theme continues to focus on “What good is the Church” as we explore a Bible passage that makes the answer to that question very clear. The Bible passage is Mark 10:35-45.

Other details of our weekend worship services include:

SATURDAY AT 5:00 IN TRINITY HOUSE – Our music will be led by the 10 Simple Rules praise band, and Pastor Jenny Smith Walz will lead worship and preach. We’ll also share in a baptism.

8:15 CHAPEL WORSHIP – Pastor Deb De Vos leads our worship and shares a sermon.

9:15 CONTEMPORARY SANCTUARY WORSHIP – The Celebration Praise Band leads us in music and I’ll share the sermon. We’ll also hear more parishioner reflections about what Trinity means to them and how it has impacted them and their families.

10:45 TRADITIONAL SANCTUARY WORSHIP – Worship focuses on the confirmation of our youth, and we’ll welcome Trinity member Will Wahl to share a few words with our confirmands. Will was confirmed at Trinity 5 years ago and recently was the youngest contestant ever on the reality TV show Survivor, seen my 10 million people weekly last winter. The Chancel Choir and soloist Kari Anzel will share music. Children in future confirmation classes will participate in our meaningful passing of the baton ceremony. A special reception will follow worship when you can greet and congratulate our new public Christians.

Also, this weekend is the final opportunity you’ll have to purchase a carnation for the altar on Father’s day in a week. We are all very blessed by God’s goodness. I hope you’ll take time to attend worship this weekend to give God thanks for those blessings.
