May 13th & 14th – Worship This Weekend

Dear Trinity family,

This weekend is a family weekend. Our national observance of Mother’s Day brings us to memory and thankfulness for the one who brought us into this world. In the Church we call it the Festival of the Christian Home, broadening our focus to thank God for ALL in our family. Such thanksgiving is especially suited for the church gathered for worship. As you think of your mother, it is likely that many of you were held by her at the altar of a church for your baptism. With this in mind our worship spaces this weekend will be beautified with carnations donated in honor or memory of mothers, and other very special women in our lives.

The focus in our services continues the theme of The God of Second Chances. We’ve looked at this matter from two perspectives already and this weekend from yet another that of relationships. Surely we can all think of some relationship where we would like and need a second chance. The Bible passage is a fascinating one about a woman at a well.

Here are some other details of our 4 worship services:

SATURDAY AT 5:00 IN TRINITY HOUSE
The 10 Simple Rules praise band will lead us in music, and Pastor Jenny Smith Walz will share the message.

SUNDAY
8:15 CHAPEL WORSHIP – Pastor Don Gebhard will lead the service and preach.
9:15 CONTEMPORARY SANCTUARY WORSHIP – Our Celebration Praise Band will lead us in music and I’ll share the message.
10:45 TRADITIONAL SANCTUARY WORSHIP – Music will be shared by our Music Makers and Littlest Angels, as well as the Chancel Choir. I’ll offer the sermon. We’ll share the Sacrament of Baptism with 5 families.

In Addition

  • In our tech services, we’ll have a special Mother’s Day video.
  • On Sunday we’ll have a fun Photo Booth for you and your mom, family, friends to have your picture taken. Look for it in the main foyer as you enter….all pictures are free

So be sure to worship this weekend and thank God for your mother and family, all together with your church family.

Blessings and peace,

Frank
