New Staff Changes Announced at Trinity Church

Last Monday the Administrative Board of the church approved the following staff changes, upon recommendation by the Pastor Parish Relations Ministry Team and the Lay Personnel Ministry team.  The following matters have required much time, effort and prayerful thought and we thank all members of these teams for their excellent service to the church.

With the departure of Rev. Debbie Kauffman as our Congregational Care Pastor, the board has hired Ginny Thorp to be our new Congregational Care Lay Minister (a change in title because of her lay status).  Ginny has been our Director of Children’s Ministry for the past 14 years.  She will begin this part time 20 hour per week ministry on October 1st. A part of the board’s agreement with Ginny is that she will begin taking classes through the United Methodist Church to become a Certified Lay Minister.

The board also recognized Rev. Kauffman at their meeting with great gratitude for her ministry of the past 4 years.  She will be recognized and thanked next Sunday, June 26th, at and between the 9:15 and 10:45 worship services.

The board hired Trinity member Rob Hom as our new Web Servant.  This part time ministry oversees the church web site and keeps it updated on a weekly and sometimes daily basis.  Rob holds a certificate of achievement in web development from Morris County College, a Bachelor of Music degree from Syracuse University and is enrolling in the new Social Media certificate program at Centenary University.  He will begin his ministry in the next few weeks.

We express our great thanks to outgoing web servant John Reed who has served the church in this position for 6 years.  John has guided us through significant developments and challenges in the ever changing word of virtual communication and we are most grateful for his faithfulness and gifts.

The Board officially received the resignation of Lisa Higgins as our 9:15 Nursery Coordinator.  Lisa has been faithfully serving in this role for 15 years, and has taken wonderful care of our youngest souls. We thank Lisa for her loving ministry.

This staff position is currently open and applications are welcome (see related article).

The board approved the request from Lois Spender to reduce her weekly hours to 16.5 effective January 1st.

A new Administrate Assistant position was created, calling for 30 hours per week, effective October 15th.  This position will be posted soon.

With Ginny Thorp’s change of ministry, the position of Director of Children’s Ministries will be open. This position will be posted soon.
