With the turkey leftovers mostly a memory, we have turned the page and now are walking the road to Bethlehem, as the Christian season of Advent begins this weekend. To mark that journey we begin a 4-week sermon series called “Packing for Bethlehem” with this week’s focus on “Patience”. And my, how we need patience in our day and lives and families, and also how we must be patient with God!! The Bible passage we’ll consider is Isaiah 9:2-7.
Other details of our weekend services include:
SATURDAY NIGHT WORSHIP AT 5:00 – Pastor Jenny will lead worship and preach, with Holy Communion being offered. The Meanz of Grace praise band will share music. The Gebhard family lights the first Advent candle for us.
8:15 CHAPEL – Chapel Worship Pastor Anthony will lead worship and bring a message, and Pastor Jenny will lead us in Holy Communion. The Huff family lights the Advent candle.
9:15 CONTEMPORARY SANCTUARY WORSHIP- The Youth Praise Band shares music for our worship and I’ll offer a message and lead us in Holy Communion. The Marsh family lights the first Advent candle.
10:45 TRADITIONAL SANCTUARY WORSHIP- Pastor Jenny will share the message and the Witt family will light the Advent candle. The Chancel Choir provides music and we’ll share in Holy Communion.
In addition, before or after our services you can order a Christmas Poinsettia in honor or memory of a loved one. Flowers will be placed on the altar for our Dec 24th services, and you may take your flower home after worship. The first Sunday of Advent is also the beginning of the new Christian year, so it’s a great time to come to worship and celebrate, but we won’t have party hats (sorry). Hope to see you in worship with us.
