Palm Sunday – Mar 24th and 25th

Dear Trinity family,

Not all days are equal. Not all weeks are equal. And this weekend begins the most important week in the Christian year. Palm Sunday calls to mind Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. That day led to a week of world changing importance, as he walked the steps to the cross — a horrible death and a glorious resurrection. And the world has never been the same since. Indeed, no event has so impacted the history of humanity on this earth as Jesus’ resurrection.

This weekend we begin marking the road to that vital event and I urge you to attend worship so as to participate with your church family in this holy week. We will be concluding our exploration of Jesus’ final words on the cross, as we have been doing for 5 weeks. Those words are “It is finished – into your hands I commit my spirit.” You can read them in John 19:30a and Luke 23:44-47. In addition our services include:

SATURDAY NIGHT WORSHIP AT 5:00 – Pastor Jenny will lead worship and preach and the Meanz of Grace praise band will lead us in music.

IN ADDITION – after the worship service there will be a time of fellowship including a potluck dinner – please bring a main dish (the sides, salad, drinks and dessert will be taken care of). There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt and more. BYOB (Bring Your Own Basket)

SUNDAY WORSHIP –

8:15 CHAPEL – I’ll be leading this service, assisted by Pastor Deb De Vos.

9:15 – CONTEMPORARY SANCTUARY WORSHIP – Our Youth Praise Band leads us in music and I’ll share the message.

10:45 – TRADITIONAL SANCTUARY WORSHIP – A special Palm Sunday celebration beginning with a dramatic re-creation of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem with a live donkey leading the way !! ++Then our combined choirs will lead us into our opening celebration hymn. The Littlest Angels and Music Makers will offer music, with Pastor Jenny
accompanying on the flute, and the Chancel Choir will offer an anthem (“The Palms”) as well. I’ll share the sermon and Pastor Jenny will assist.

ALSO

At the conclusion of all services worshipers will be given a palm branch as a reminder of this holy day. This is an important weekend in our faith. I look forward to being with you in worship.

Blessings and peace,

Frank
