Planning for 2021

“I know the plans I have for you, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11

The future is always known to God.

The future is seldom known to us. Therefore, God has given us the gift of faith, so we can face whatever the future may bring. And God has also given us a mind with which to think about, contemplate and plan for the future, knowing that the things of tomorrow may change.

As I help lead our congregation into the future called 2021, COVID makes it very hard to plan. Just as in your family, these times make planning uncertain for the church. Yet I do know that the church will continue its mission and ministry, for the church is God’s chosen instrument for the redemption of the world.

Exactly what we’ll be doing in that ministry in 2021 is less clear than in previous years. But what is just the same is that we all need to make a commitment of our time, talent and treasure if it’s to happen. This year, especially of our treasure – our finances.

The financial giving of the congregation from last March to now has been remarkable. Together, we’ve maintained many of our ministries, kept ALL staff members with NO furloughs, and kept worship, mission, education and outreach at high levels. Thank you for your part in that.

Now, we set a financial plan for next year through your pledges. I ask you to prayerfully consider increasing your pledge, or to begin pledging if you do not currently do so. Your decision on this matter will have more of an impact on Trinity than usual, and will make a difference.

And please pray for our congregation as we move into the coming year. God will be there. And with God all things are possible

Blessings and peace,
Frank
