Is There Pure Altruism? – Worship This Weekend Nov 25-26

Dear Trinity family,

I hope you are having an enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend. Let us remember to thank God for all blessings every day. This weekend many of us are doing Christmas shopping. We are wondering what gifts we should give. Also this weekend at Trinity, we will explore one of the 3 greatest gifts we can give – SELFLESS LOVE. I have long pondered a theological question: IS THERE SUCH A THING AS PURE ALTRUISM? Or, must there always be something we get back in our giving? These and related questions will be our sermon focus this weekend.

Here are some other details of our four worship services:

SATURDAY NIGHT WORSHIP – 5:00 in Trinity House – Pastor Deb DeVos will share the sermon and music will be provided by the Meanz of Grace praise band.

8:15 – CHAPEL – Pastor Deb will again lead and offer the sermon.
9:15 – CONTEMPORARY SANCTUARY WORSHIP – Our Celebration Praise Band will lead us in music and I’ll share the sermon.
10:45 – TRADITIONAL SANCTUARY WORSHIP – Music will be shared by our Trinity Ringers, Trinity Singers, and Brick Church Ringers. I’ll share the message.

We’ll hear a brief report from our Washington DC Encounter mission team. And a reminder that if you have not yet submitted your 2018 Commitment Card, that it will help us if you submit them soon. (Also please note that Sunday evening at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in town there is a community-wide hymn sing at 7:00. Parishioners from several churches will be participating.) I hope you’ll make time to worship with your church family this weekend…remembering that the freedom to do so is also a gift.
