Renewing The Family and Dismantling Entitlements – Worship This Weekend Feb. 18 & Feb. 19

Dear Trinity church family,

Most of us agree that family is a priority that we care deeply about. But also, many of us privately confess that we need to make some changes to improve our family life. That’s why we are continuing our sermon series this weekend on “RENEWING THE FAMILY” and specifically we’ll be talking about Dismantling Entitlements. This is a complex matter, yet a spirit of entitlement has crept into much of American life, including our families. It comes up with husbands and wives and parents and kids. It causes conflicts within and around our families because it is an ungodly attitude. We’ll address that matter this weekend with the Bible passages Acts 17:22-28 and John 15:12-17.

Other details of our worship services include:
SATURDAY AT 5:00 IN TRINITY HOUSE -The Meanz of Grace praise band will lead us in music and Pastor Jenny Smith Walz will share the sermon.

SUNDAY

8:15 CHAPEL WORSHIP -Pastor Don Gebhard will lead and share the sermon.
9:15 CONTEMPORARY SANCTUARY WORSHIP – The Celebration Praise Band will lead in music and I’ll share the sermon.
10:45 TRADITIONAL SANCTUARY WORSHIP – Our music will be shared by the Agape Ringers, the Brick Church Ringers, and the Chancel Choir. We’ll be welcoming 20 new members into the congregation, and I’ll share the sermon.

In addition

  • As always, worship will end with more good news of what God is doing in and through our church family.
  • After worship, you’ll have the opportunity to sign up to be in one of our Lenten small groups…..and I urge you to commit to being in one of these groups that will meet weekly for 6 weeks during Lent, starting the week of March 1st.
  • If you have ordered a hoagie from our United Methodist Men, you can pick it up after worship; there will probably be extras for sale also. (Thanks for supporting the Matt Torgersen scholarship fund that this sale benefits.)

It’s going to be a great weekend at Trinity Church…so make time to join the family in worship.

Blessings and peace,

Frank
