Making the Most of Marriage: Practical Tools to Understand and Strengthen Your Relationship
This small group will offer effective tools for working on one’s “Relationship House” from regular maintenance, to repairs, to renovations, and/or total overhauls. The material presented comes from the art and science behind happy, healthy, satisfying, and fulfilling relationships distilled from studies carried out for over 40 years by relationship researchers, psychologists, and marriage and family therapists at the Gottman Institute. This group is being led by Dr. Charlie McNeil, L.M.F.T. Begins Monday, 4/20/20 at 7:00p.m. for 4 weeks.
The Beatitudes – Matthew 5:1-12
A study of the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount using Emmett Fox’s book, The Sermon on the Mount. We will study, meditate and discuss our understandings of what Jesus is teaching us. This group is being led by Pat Riegler and there will a day and evening session offered. Begins Thursday, 4/23/20 at 1:00 OR 7:00 p.m. for 8 weeks.
A Literal Look at the Bible
There are many ways to read and interpret scripture. As United Methodists we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Some Christians use a literal interpretation as they study and apply scripture. This study will use that literal approach while exploring the book of Daniel.
Living Our Principles
Join us for a 6-week video & discussion group as we explore in depth the United Methodist Social Principles. The topics will include: “The Natural World”, “The Nurturing Community”, “The Social Community”, “Economic Justice”, “Politics, Power & The World”. Hopefully “Living our Principles” inspires conversations for reflection informed by Christ who has the power to stimulate behavior that reflects the Social Principles of our denomination. This group will be led by Sharon Townsend and Linda Feula. Begins Thursday, 4/23/20 at 7:00 p.m. for 6 weeks.
Guiding Ourselves to Wellness
This is an invitation to learn to make positive steps to help lead a healthier life, fulfilling Christ’s intent for us. During our time together, we’ll discuss current health, wellness, and fitness topics and how small lifestyle changes can enhance our life and positively affect our ability to carry out our activities of daily living. Although this class is designed to address the needs of senior women, women of all ages are invited. This small group is offered by: Fran Blaskopf, M.S., Retired Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Begins Wednesday, 4/29/20 at 10:30 a.m. for 3 weeks.
