Peace, Be Still: Calming Our Anxious Minds Through the Coronavirus Storm
Anxious? Stressed? Who isn't? ... especially with the "social distancing" and uncertainty with regard to everyday living, health, financial, and relationship stresses associated with the Corona virus crisis! Join us on ZOOM for a virtual gathering to get some helpful tips on dealing with being "over-stressed and anxious" and "under-calm and at peace." Whether or not you may be clinically anxious, we will look at some evidence-based, practical techniques to deal with physical, emotional, and spiritual symptoms of having too much of what we don't want and not enough of what we do want. This offering is coming in two parts: 1) a one time "seminar" on stress and anxiety in these times, including Q&A participation Monday, April 20th at 7:00 p.m. and 2) a follow up gathering of those who would like to continue to meet as an on-line support group (limited to 15) for several more weeks, also on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. These sessions will be led/moderated by Dr. Charlie McNeil, L.M.F.T.
The Beatitudes – Matthew 5:1-12
A study of the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount using Emmett Fox’s book, The Sermon on the Mount. We will study, meditate and discuss our understandings of what Jesus is teaching us. This group is being led by Pat Riegler and there will a day and evening session offered on Thursdays beginning April 23rd. The daytime group will meet at 1:00 p.m. and the evening group at 7:00 p.m.
A Literal Look At The Bible: Daniel
A study in the book of Daniel, beloved of God. God reveals the entire panorama of gentile history from the Babylonian captivity to the Antichrist and finally to the second coming of the King of Kings with astonishing accuracy. Daniel provides us with a great example of how we should live in the world and tremendous faith in God during difficult times. Understanding Daniel will give us an insight into our own times and what God has planned for our future. This study will run for 8 weeks beginning Monday April 27th at 7:00 p.m.
You’d be hard-pressed to overstate the extent to which fear, anxiety, and worry permeate our lives today. Fear wreaks havoc on our relationships and communities. It leads us into making bad decisions. It holds us back from the very pursuits that promise fulfillment and joy. Drawing on recent research, inspiring real-life examples, and fresh biblical insight, Hamilton uses a mixture of facts and faith to help readers understand and counter fears related to such outsize perils as death and illness, as well as the everyday anxieties all of us encounter. See the chart below for group details.
