Our biggest food drive of the year has arrived and we need your help to get ready. On Saturday, May 11th , the U.S. Post Office will be sponsoring its annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive. This is the nation’s largest one-day food drive and our biggest food drive of the year. On that day, people across the country will leave non-perishable food items by their mailboxes. Letter carriers pick up the food items and donate them to local food pantries. Here’s how you can help: • Place non-perishable food items at your mailbox or deliver them to your post office (no glass, please). • Tell friends, family, and neighbors about the food drive. Perhaps your club or scout group can advertise this event. • Watch for Just Say Yes notices in the worship bulletins to sign up. We’ll need drivers and many food sorters. • Hope for good weather! • For more information, please go to www.stampouthungerfooddrive.us. There’s some great information available. • If you can’t put food out that day, please consider making a financial donation to the Pantry. Donate to the Pantry on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. – 12 noon, or take donations to the church office when it’s open. Monetary donations can be mailed to the church office, marked “Lord’s Pantry” in the memo section. During March, we served 934 people (335 families): 276 children, 549 adults, and 109 seniors.
