A huge thank you to everyone who helped in some way during this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Postal Food Drive. Thanks to our fantastic volunteers, the day was a big success. We rely solely on donations, and that food drive is our largest of the year.
As the school year winds down, please keep our ministry in mind during the summer months. Many children receive free or reduced-cost lunch and breakfast at school, and they’ll be missing those meals when classes are not in session. Families often have an increased need for food during this time, and we want to make sure that no child ever goes hungry. Donations of food are put directly onto our shelves, and monetary donations are used to purchase food. Some child-friendly food items include hot dogs, peanut butter and jelly, tuna fish, soup, macaroni and cheese, and canned dinners.
Donate to the Pantry on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. – 12 noon, or take donations to the church office when it’s open. Monetary donations can be mailed to the church office, marked “Lord’s Pantry” in the memo section.
During April, we served 1,062 people (368 families): 320 children, 626 adults and 116 seniors.
